Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Roman Rosca, stated that the authorities are considering reducing the number of polling stations designated for voters from the Transnistrian region. Rosca emphasized that they are taking this step “to ensure a fair and free electoral process.”
“In the past, we witnessed voting that was organized and influenced by voters from the Transnistrian region, and our core mission is to organize an electoral process based on fairness and free expression. The number of polling stations must reflect that, and the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) will approve it,” Rosca explained.
He also stressed that no candidate can conduct an electoral campaign within the territory of Transnistria, which prevents the organization of a truly democratic and free election on the left bank of the Dniester.
