Dan Olaru makes history: Wins first stage of Archery World Cup and qualifies for Paris 2024 Olympics

The National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova announced that archer Dan Olaru has won the first stage of the Archery World Cup, which took place in Antalya, Turkey.

According to olympic.md, Olaru defeated the 2016 Olympic silver medalist, Jean-Charles Valladont of France, with a score of 6-4.

This was Olaru’s first appearance in a World Cup final. The competition served as a qualifying event for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Dan Olaru is a young athlete from the Republic of Moldova who became the European archery vice-champion in 2018. He, along with Alexandra Mîrca, represented Moldova at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
