The sports sensation and perhaps one of the most highly-rated athletes from the Republic of Moldova, Dan Olaru, continues to exceed all expectations regarding his potential. During the 2023 Hyundai Archery World Cup Final, which concluded today in the city of Hermosillo, Mexico, Dan Olaru finished in 7th place as he posted himself in an Instagram post.
Marcus D’Almeida, representing Brazil, secured the first position, followed by Lee Woo Seok from the Republic of Korea in second place, and the third place was held by the much more experienced archer Mauro Nespoli from Italy.

Dan Olaru holds the title of the first athlete to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. He earned this ticket after finishing fourth in the recurve men’s event at the European Games 2023 in Kraków-Małopolska. The podium was occupied by Florian Unruh, Miguel Alvarino Garcia, and Pablo Acha.
According to World Archery, Dan Olaru is ranked 9th in the recurve men’s event, with a winning rate of 61% out of 150 matches. The last few seasons have been the best of his career, with his career-best ranking achieved on June 12, 2023.
The Moldovan archer, born in Chisinau in 1996, started practicing archery at the age of just 11 along with his friends, taking him only two years to make his international debut. As for his personal life, he keeps it low-key, letting his achievements speak for themselves.
