Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Bjorn Berge will visit Moldova on April 8-9.
During the visit, he will meet with Justice Minister Veronica Mihailov-Moraru, State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Vladimir Cuc, and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.
Bjorn Berge will discuss with the Moldovan officials the situation in Ukraine, the Council of Europe’s support for Moldova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and assistance in the democratic reforms’ implementation.
Also on Monday, April 8, at 13:00, Bjorn Berge will hold a lecture at the State University of Moldova (USM). He will exchange opinions with students on gender equality and the impact of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women. The Republic of Moldova acceded to this Convention in 2022.
