Discover Moldova: The sightseeing trolleybus and its itinerary

The “Sightseeing Trolleybus” project first launched on August 1, 2021, to mark the 585th anniversary of the first documentary mention of Chisinau. This year, the project celebrates its third anniversary. The ”Sightseeing Trolleybus” promotes the city’s history, culture, and traditions.

This project uses two eco-friendly vehicles and offers travelers a 75-minute tour with historical information provided through audio guides in three languages: Romanian, Russian, and English.

During the tours, participants explore the city through two thematic routes. Over the past three years, approximately 30,000 people—children, adults, visitors to the Capital, and official delegations—have benefited from these informative journeys.

Among the guests who have boarded the trolleybus are visitors from Romania, Turkey, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Canada, the USA, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Germany, France, Mexico, Belarus, and many other countries.

The Municipality of Chisinau announces that starting from August 3, 2024, the Tourist Trolleybus will operate every weekend according to the following schedule:

  • Saturday – Tourist Route No. 1 (Triumphal Arch – Founding Stone – Circus – Presidency – Herta House – City Hall);
  • Sunday – Tourist Route No. 2 (Triumphal Arch – Water Tower – City Hall – Railway Station – Ciuflea Monastery – Tourist Information Center).

Both routes cover over 80 locations and historical landmarks in the capital.

The tour times remain unchanged: 12:00 pm (in Russian), 02:00 pm(in English), and 04:00 pm (in Romanian).
