Deputy Parliament Speaker and Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) lawmaker Doina Gherman said during a program on Vocea Basarabiei that only one candidate registered for the position of the PAS president.

According to Gherman, the deadline for submitting applications has expired, and the party’s current leader, Igor Grosu, is now the official candidate for the position, supported by the future leadership team.

Gherman also announced that she will run for vice president of the party, where she plans to oversee the Center-West region. She said she is currently helping organize territorial conventions, a process expected to conclude by June 7, when delegates for the party congress will be selected.

“There will be both new and old members. The party is a living organism, and it is normal for new people to join. At the same time, the main point of reference remains the team that led the party through the two — or rather three — important electoral campaigns: the referendum, the presidential election, and the parliamentary elections. It is a good political result for the Party of Action and Solidarity. Therefore, it is good to maintain continuity,” Gherman stated.

The PAS will hold its party congress on June 14.
