European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib will make her first official visit to Moldova on Friday, September 11.
During the visit, Lahbib will meet with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and several members of the Government.
The European Commissioner will also visit the La Strada organization and a shelter for refugees. Discussions will focus on support for victims of sexual violence and the situation of refugees in vulnerable circumstances.
Lahbib will additionally attend a demonstration by the Moldova Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team, which uses equipment provided with the support of the European Union.
At the end of her visit, Lahbib will hold a press conference alongside Moldova’s Interior Minister Daniella Misail-Nichitin and Minister of Labour and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru.
