During the previous year, 93 companies benefited from European grants totalling 51.36 million lei, of which 28.76 million lei were disbursed. According to 2023 data, 70% of companies operate in rural areas and more than half of the small and medium-sized enterprises that received grant funding are either set up or run by women.
The grants were allocated through six programmes managed by ODE and co-financed by the European Union. Programmes such as PARE 1+2, Start for Youth, SME Greening Programme, Digital Transformation Programme, Retrofit and Energy Efficiency Programme, and Rural Tourism Programme aim to support resilient economic development of indigenous entrepreneurship and promote green transition in Moldova.
The entrepreneurial support programmes implemented by ODE receive financial support from the European Union through a grant agreement worth €8 million signed in May 2023 under the “EU for SMEs project.”
