In January-September 2022, exports of goods totaled 3,277.6 million US dollars, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). Thus, exports increased by 55.8% compared to the same period last year.
In the mentioned period, 70% of the total exports were domestic goods – 70.3%) and totaled 2304.6 million US dollars.
According to the NBS, the export of domestic goods increased by 45.9% compared to the similar period in 2021 and contributed to the increase of the total value of exports by 34.4%.
For the export of goods, road transport was most often used (75.8% of total exports), followed by sea transport (14.1%), rail transport (8.8%), air transport (0.9% ) and fixed transport facilities (0.4%).
In January-September 2022, the main destination countries of goods exports that held 93% of total exports were:
Romania (28.5% of total exports);
Ukraine (14.9%);
Turkey (8%);
Italy (7.9%);
Germany (5.4%);
Russian Federation (4.8%);
Bulgaria (4.0%);
Poland (2.8%);
Czech Republic (2.3%);
Switzerland (1.8%);
The Kingdom of the Netherlands (Netherlands), Belarus, Iran and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (1.6% each);
Hungary (1.2%);
France and the United States of America (0.9% each);
Greece and Spain (0.8% each);
Lebanon, Austria and Portugal (0.5% each).
So, 59.2% of the total exports reached the European Union market, amounting to 1941 million US dollars. In this market, exports increased by 50.6% compared to the same period last year.
