Socialist deputy Igor Dodon submitted a request to speak at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), following President Maia Sandu’s speech. He wants to present the perspective of opposition political forces and claims that Maia Sandu prioritized foreign interests over Moldova’s national concerns.

Dodon stated, “At Strasbourg, President Maia Sandu, in her speech, once again prioritized other countries and foreign interests. She did not address the national interests of Moldovans, showed no concern for the difficult economic situation in the Republic of Moldova, and did not speak the truth about the harsh social reality in our country. Her main word is ‘hybrid,’ and she does not deviate from that message.

I came to PACE to tell Europeans the true situation in the Republic of Moldova. I submitted a request to deliver a speech about the reality in Moldova, where the only ‘hybrid’ and foreign element is the PAS government, which has brought the country to the most difficult and desperate state in our modern history.”

Maia Sandu addressed PACE on January 27, speaking about hybrid threats, disinformation, and Russia’s intentions to control Moldova to use it against the EU and Ukraine.
