Former President of the European Council Charles Michel, one of the most influential European leaders in recent years, arrived in Chisinau today, April 29, to participate in “Reinvent Moldova 2.0,” organized by the Realitatea Media Group.
Charles Michel is this year’s special guest at the event. During the panel dedicated to democracy, he will speak about the challenges and opportunities of European integration, as well as the lessons learned during his mandate.
Charles Michel is a Belgian politician who served as President of the European Council between 2019 and 2024. Prior to that, he was Prime Minister of Belgium (2014–2019), becoming one of the youngest government leaders in Europe at the time. He is a member of the francophone liberal party Reformist Movement.
“Reinvent Moldova 2.0,” organized by the Realitatea Media Group, will take place on April 30 and aims to become a major platform for dialogue, inspiration, and civic mobilization. The event is built on the idea that the Republic of Moldova is more than just a territory — it is its people, with aspirations, courage, and the desire to build a modern, democratic, and prosperous state.
In this context, the organizers aim to highlight key themes such as patriotism, democracy, prosperity, resilience, and trust in the media.
Prominent speakers from various fields will take the stage at “Reinvent Moldova 2.0”:
- Democracy: Charles Michel, European leader and former President of the European Council (2019–2024)
- Society: Daniela Vidaicu, Executive Director of the Soros Foundation Moldova
- Prosperity: Eugen Osmochescu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization
- Resilience: Ana Revenco, Director of the Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation
- Mass Media: Sergiu Toader, journalist, media manager, and strategic communication leader
