The monthly scholarships for performance athletes will be doubled. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the opinion on the draft law which provides for the doubling of the monthly scholarship for high-performance athletes. The amount, criteria and procedure for awarding it will be laid down in a special regulation.
“The monthly scholarship for a period of one year will also benefit performance athletes who have not participated in international sports competitions. This will be determined by the result of the last sports competition and will be awarded if the competitions have either been canceled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, or in the case of an illness / trauma obtained by athletes during participation at trainings, training camps and competitions, with the presentation of confirmatory documents “, announces the Government.
Doubling the monthly scholarships will increase the state budget to about 15 million lei.
