“The latest assistance measures are proof of our commitment to strengthening the capacity of the Moldovan Armed Forces to increase national security, stability and resilience in the defense sector,” the EU Council said in the announcement.
We note that the European Instrument for Peace was established in March 2021 to fund all actions of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) in the military and defense fields, in order to prevent conflicts, maintain peace and strengthen security and international stability. In particular, the European Peace Facility allows the EU to fund actions aimed at strengthening the capacity of third countries and regional and international organizations in military and defense matters.
