Although thousands of kilometers from home, Moldovans abroad remain deeply connected and actively engaged in Moldova’s development. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu emphasized this message during his meetings with Moldovan communities in Italy, Ireland, Germany, Portugal, and Austria.
Grosu and diaspora members discussed major achievements benefiting citizens at home and abroad.
“In Verona, at the heart of Italy, I felt deeply moved while meeting our colleagues from the PAS Diaspora in Italy, Ireland, Germany, Portugal, Austria, and beyond,” Grosu said. “At the PAS Diaspora conference, we talked about the future we’re building. For all our people, wherever they live. I listened to each person to better understand how our fellow citizens see Moldova from afar while still holding it close to their hearts.”

He stressed that Moldovans abroad stand ready to contribute to Moldova’s transformation into a European nation.
“The year 2025 will be decisive for our future. I was proud to see our Moldovans—as always—eager to help Moldova become a free, prosperous, and European country,” Grosu noted. “Once again, I saw success through goodwill, hard work, and kindness. No matter where we live, we will build a European Moldova.”
Grosu also called on Moldovans with Romanian citizenship to vote in Romania’s upcoming presidential elections and support “a strong and European Romania.”
