At Castel Mimi, a high-level visit was conducted by His Excellency Mr. Kent D. Logsdon, the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Moldova, together with his wife, Mrs. Michelle Logsdon.
The owner of Castel Mimi, Mr. Iurie Trofim, together with his children – siblings Adrian Trofim and Cristina Frolov, organized a guided tour for the Logsdon family about the history of the place, taking them through the historical cellars of the castle, the production section, and also discussing existing rural development issues in the region.
During the visit, the hosts also shared information about the activities of the Constantin Mimi Foundation, which promotes sustainable rural development projects, cultural values, social inclusion, and ultimately contributes to improving the local economy. In this regard, the President of the Foundation, Cristina Frolov, presented potential rural development projects in the region, the challenges, and the identified solutions to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants in the villages and enhance their ability to access opportunities for a better quality of life.
The Logsdon couple were impressed by the beauty of the place, and the visit to Castel Mimi concluded with a fine dinner and a wine tasting of the house’s wines. His Excellency Mr. Ambassador Logsdon highly praised the wines from “The Governor” Collection, a series of premium wines produced in memory of Constantin Mimi, the founder of Castel Mimi. It was an honor to learn that in their next visit to the United States, the esteemed guests will make sure to take the “Sînzienele” wine to serve at home, thousands of kilometers away from our country.
Before leaving, His Excellency Mr. Logsdon signed the Guest Book of Castel Mimi, including the label of the “Roșu de Bulboaca” wine, which will become part of the Presidents’ Collection in the historical cellars of Castel Mimi.
