The head of state, Maia Sandu, today paid a visit to the officers and representatives of the State Protection and Guard Service. Sandu congratulated them on their professional day, and at the same time reminded them of the great responsibility that rests on their shoulders in the context of the European Political Community Meeting that will take place on June 1, 2023, in Chisinau.
On June 1, Moldova will host the largest international event in the country’s history, where more than 40 heads of state and government are expected:
“The safety of all these leaders is in your hands and it will take a lot of work, excellent organization and maximum responsibility from each of you to succeed. And I am confident that we will succeed!”, emphasized the head of state.

Sandu also conferred several state awards for the institution’s employees in appreciation of their professionalism and work.
We remind you that the meeting of the European Political Community will take place on June 1, 2023, in Chisinau. An official invitation to this effect was signed by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and was sent to the heads of state and government of the participating countries.
47 presidents and heads of government, as well as the heads of the European Union, are expected at the event. The leaders meeting in Chisinau will discuss joint efforts for peace, in the context of the war in Ukraine and related crises, the defense of democracy, the strengthening of energy security and the resilience of European states.
The European Political Community was created last year, at the initiative of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron. The first CPE meeting was held in Prague in October 2022.
