How many refugees from Ukraine found a job in Moldova?

The National Agency for Employment announces that, from 2022 until now, 975 refugees from Ukraine have been employed in the labor field. According to statistics, there are 710 women and 265 men.

“Most Ukrainian citizens are employed in the municipality of Chisinau (739), UTA Gagauzia (42), and Balti (34). According to employers’ notifications, citizens of Ukraine held jobs in the following professions, trades: programmer, engineer, seamstress, salesperson, salesperson-consultant, cook, waiter, doctor, educator, sub-assembly fitter, nurse, operator in the production sector, agent customer services, manager of various fields, data entry operator, others”, announces ANOFM.

About 484 employers showed willingness to employ Ukrainian citizens, declaring about 5,754 job vacancies available for these people. More than 677 Ukrainian citizens registered in the records of the territorial subdivisions under ANOFM to receive employment support, the release also states.

“We specify that ANOFM offers the following free services to Ukrainian citizens registered in records: information on job vacancies; contact details of employers; employment guidance and support. Employers, who have hired citizens from Ukraine, have an obligation to notify about this according to the provisions of point 8 of Provision no. 4 of 01.03.2022 of the Commission for Exceptional Situations of the Republic of Moldova, within 5 days from the date of conclusion of the employment contract, to ANOFM in the following ways: in electronic format at the email address: angajare_ua@anofm.md or on a paper presented at the headquarters of the territorial subdivisions for employment of ANOFM”, the agency’s informative note also states.

We remind you that, from the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine until now, over 600 thousand Ukrainian citizens have entered the Republic of Moldova, and according to statistics, over 90 thousand refugees have remained here. Of the total, over 190 thousand are minors.
