President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, on a visit to Washington, had meetings with congressmen Marcy Kaptur, William Keating, Jason Krow, and Deborah K. Ross, reports MOLDPRES, citing the Communication and Public Relations Department of the Parliament.
The officials discussed the security challenges in the region and how they affect the Republic of Moldova. “Despite multiple crises, for the past two years, we have been carrying out extensive reforms in several key areas aimed at improving people’s lives, energy independence, and the development of villages and towns,” mentioned the head of the Parliament.
The President of the Parliament emphasized that the relationship with the United States of America is essential for strengthening the resilience of our country, and the authorities will continue to deepen it. “Through the strong support we receive from the US, we are making progress in our modernization process and in our accession to the European Union,” said Igor Grosu.

During the discussions, the head of the Parliament thanked the United States for adopting sanctions against oligarchs who have impoverished and attempted to destabilize the internal situation in Moldova. The adopted measure represents an important step in the joint efforts to maintain stability and public order in the country.
The agenda of the discussions also included the subject of how the United States can help our country better cope with current challenges, with the President of the Parliament expressing gratitude for the assistance that the Republic of Moldova has received during the over 30 years of collaboration.
