New postage stamps will be available for purchase from Friday 22 December 2023, announces the Minister of Economic Development and Digitisation, Dumitru Alaiba, in a Facebook post. According to the official, the decision was taken after the European Union countries decided to open negotiations on Moldova and Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
“From Friday at the country’s post offices, we are putting into circulation a special stamp issue on the occasion of the opening of negotiations on the accession of our country to the European Union.
European integration is our historic chance for a better life. It was a history-making day. We still have much, much work ahead of us. We will certainly succeed. Other countries have made it, and we will make it too,” the minister said.
The price of such a stamp will be 10 lei.
On 14 December 2023, the Member States of the European Union decided to open negotiations on the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union. A similar decision was taken for Ukraine.
