Specialists responsible for the social integration of refugees from Ukraine will work in the mayoralties of 14 localities in Moldova. This was reported by the EU Delegation in Moldova. This initiative will be financed by the EU and UNDP.
“The new staff will work in 14 localities that are part of the Mayors for Growth (M4EG) initiative funded by the EU and UNDP.”
Later, the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova will elaborate recommendations for creating such units in other localities.
According to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Moldova has received more than 958,232 Ukrainians since the beginning of the war. There are 113,000 Ukrainian citizens in the republic now.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, more than 200 Ukrainian entrepreneurs who received refugee status in Moldova have registered their companies in the republic.
According to the data of the National Employment Agency, from March 2022 until today, 1292 citizens from Ukraine have been employed in Moldova. Of these, 897 are women and 395 men. The majority of Ukrainian citizens work in Chisinau (988), Gagauzia (52), and Balti (61). Citizens of Ukraine got jobs in the professions of programmer, engineer, doctor, teacher, seamstress, sales consultant, cook, assembler, manager in various fields, data entry operator, and others.
