Ion Ceban, the capital mayor, met with Alexandr Stoianoglo, the candidate for president of the Republic of Moldova, on Thursday, October 24. According to Ceban, the meeting was on Stoianoglo’s initiative, where they discussed several issues.
In his message, Mayor Ion Ceban said Alexandr Stoianoglo is also open to talks with presidential candidate Maia Sandu and invited her to Chisinau City Hall for talks.
“Today, at the initiative of the presidential candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo, we had a meeting and talks. I remain firmly committed to Chisinau and the Republic of Moldova’s development on its path towards European integration.
I have come up with proposals for them to consider and analyze in the future, namely:
1. The realization of the country’s project to build the Chisinau ring road.
2. Establishing community police in all localities in the Republic of Moldova.
3. Promotion and approval of the project on parking lots in Chisinau and throughout the country.
4. Returning to the issue, we proposed that the taxes of legal entities remain 50 percent in the local budget of Chisinau and Balti because currently, compared to other municipalities, the two municipalities are treated in a discriminatory manner,” Ceban’s message reads.
In less than two weeks, Moldovan citizens will be called to the polls to elect their next president in the second round of voting. The debate in the second round of the presidential elections may happen without a moderator. Maia Sandu invited Alexandr Stoianoglo to a one-on-one discussion at the Republican Palace.
