According to the preliminary results presented by the CEC, after counting all the minutes, the MAN candidate, Ion Ceban, has obtained over 50.6% of the processed votes and will remain in charge of the capital for the next four years.
According to the CEC data, 28.2% of Chișinău residents voted for the PAS candidate, Lilian Carp, in Sunday’s election. The next preferences in the capital’s residents were for the PSRM candidate, Adrian Albu, who accumulated 4.5% of the votes, and the PPDA candidate, Victor Chironda, who was supported by 3.8% of the citizens.
The preliminary CEC data indicate that the voter turnout in Chișinău on Sunday was 40.9% (266,978 people).
There were 27 candidates vying for the position of mayor of the capital.
