Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban says employees at the Vadul lui Voda water intake station have been working almost around the clock over the past two weeks to ensure the capital’s water supply remains secure and to prepare for any potential emergency.
Speaking about the city’s water supply infrastructure, Ceban explained how water reaches the intake station and stressed that staff have been on continuous duty to respond to any developments.
The mayor also argued that if the situation is indeed as critical as some officials have suggested, the Supreme Security Council should be convened without delay.
“If the situation is truly as critical as it is being described, then the Security Council should be urgently convened,” Ceban said.
His remarks come amid growing public discussion over the condition of Chisinau’s water supply infrastructure and concerns related to water resources.
More details will follow as additional information becomes available.
