MP Ion Chicu of the “Alternativa” bloc has announced that he will submit a motion against the policies of the Ministry of Defense and is calling for the resignation of Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatii.
The former prime minister is seeking the minister’s hearing in Parliament following the deaths of two young men during military service. Both were reportedly injured with their service weapons, and the incidents occurred less than a month apart.
“Unfortunately, in Nosatii’s army, soldiers die faster than he manages to investigate previous cases. He only knows how to waste public money. We will submit a motion for Minister Nosatii’s dismissal, because our young people are being killed in peacetime,” Chicu wrote on social media.

The Ministry of Defense has not yet commented on the statement.
Under current legislation, members of Parliament may submit either simple motions or motions of no confidence.
A simple motion expresses Parliament’s position on a specific issue of domestic or foreign policy or on a matter that has been the subject of an interpellation. It must be initiated by at least 15 MPs, and if adopted, its provisions become binding on the Government or other authorities.
A motion of no confidence, on the other hand, expresses the withdrawal of trust granted to the Government at the time of its appointment. If passed, the prime minister is required to submit the Government’s resignation within three days.
