The Irish government announced the decision to open an embassy in Moldova.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the announcement is “a clear signal of Ireland’s desire to intensify its relations with Moldova.”
The decision, based on reciprocity, marks a new stage in the bilateral relations between Ireland and Moldova, thanks to which the existing bilateral cooperation will be consolidated, deepened and expanded.
“The Irish state’s decision fits in with the expansion of Ireland’s diplomatic and consular network within the Global Ireland program,” the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
