Josep Borrell on meeting with Maia Sandu: “Moldova’s ambitious reforms led to the launch of EU accession negotiations”

On June 18, Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell met with Head of State Maia Sandu within the European Political Community Summit framework. The European official congratulated the country’s President “for Moldova’s ambitious reforms, which have led to the launch of EU accession negotiations.”

“Through our Partnership for Security and Defense, we will continue to support Moldova’s resilience to the impact of Russia’s war and its increasingly intense hybrid actions,” Josep Borrell emphasized on a social network.

The fourth meeting of the European Political Community is taking place today at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, in the U.K. During the event, the head of state will hold discussions with several European presidents and prime ministers with whom she will discuss peace and security of our country, economic development, and European integration.
