Social entrepreneurship has a special contribution to the development of a country’s economy. A social business solves a societal problem and increases the employment of people from disadvantaged groups. In the Republic of Moldova, social entrepreneurship is developing more and more thanks to the support offered by the European Union. One of the projects that contribute to the creation of an ecosystem favorable to the development of social entrepreneurship is “Valorizing the potential of civil society organizations to promote and develop social entrepreneurship in Moldova”, a project financed by the European Union, co-financed by Sweden, in partnership with the East European Foundation, Contact Center and Keystone Moldova.
One of the project’s activities provides for the strengthening of the capacities of local civil society organizations (CSOs) interested in the development of communication and advocacy plans at the regional level for the promotion of social entrepreneurship. In this context, Keystone Moldova announces the organization of two training workshops, of two days each, in the regions: Center, North, South, UTAG, and the Transnistrian region.
The purpose of the training workshops is to empower local CSO representatives to develop communication and advocacy plans at the regional level.
Members and employees of civil society organizations and non-governmental organizations – legal entities established and registered in the Republic of Moldova are invited to participate in training workshops in the development of communication and advocacy plans for the promotion of social entrepreneurship at the local level. Non-profit organizations operating at the local level (public associations, foundations, community organizations, non-commercial institutions) are also expected. 2 members from each CSO can participate in the training program.

During the training workshops, the participants will be familiar with the needs of the project, with the attitudes, behaviors, and knowledge of the general public in the field of social entrepreneurship and other target groups, and with communication strategies for changing behaviors, attitudes, and knowledge in the field of social entrepreneurship, on the basis of which they will be carried out regional communication campaigns (by the later selected CSOs). They will also be trained in the development and implementation of communication and advocacy campaigns and plans.
After the workshops, a grant competition will be launched by the East European Foundation from the sources of the European Union in which only trained CSOs will be able to participate. Subsequently, five project proposals will be sub-granted, one in each region. Grants will be offered for communication/media projects, which will aim to implement advocacy and communication campaigns to change the attitudes, behaviors, and knowledge of people in the region toward social entrepreneurship.
