Moldovan banks granted new loans in the amount of 3.8 billion lei, 13% less in September compared to the same period of 2021, according to data from the National Bank of Moldova. More than 50% of the loans granted were in Moldovan lei, and the equivalent of 1.7 billion lei were credits granted in foreign currency, writes BANI.MD.
The most requested were the credits with terms from 2 to 5 years, with a weight of 57.3 percent in the total credits granted.
As for the interest rate, it increased by 0.25 percentage points (p.p.) for loans in the national currency.

Credits were granted to companies with an average rate of 12.43 percent, to natural persons practicing an activity – with a rate of 16.59 percent, and to natural persons – with a rate of 15.15 percent.
For loans in foreign currency, the interest rate decreased by 0.04 p.p. Credits were granted to legal entities at an average rate of 4.20 percent, to natural persons practicing activity – at a rate of 4.45 percent, and to natural persons – at a rate of 6.99 percent.
