President Maia Sandu delivered a message to all women on Thursday, highlighting their crucial role in making Moldova stronger at home and respected globally. She called on women to actively participate in the upcoming elections on October 20 to ensure Moldova’s safety, prevent the need for families to leave the country, and keep loved ones together.
“I want to thank all women for their dedication and involvement,” Sandu said. “Over the past four years, I’ve met countless remarkable women. To all mothers, grandmothers, teachers, bakers, athletes, engineers, police officers, students, and artists—whatever path you’ve chosen, I am grateful for your professionalism and commitment. Thanks to you, Moldova is better at home and appreciated worldwide.”
She encouraged women to vote in both the elections and the constitutional referendum. “On October 20, we will complete the work we’ve started. Let’s vote to keep Moldova safe from harm, to ensure no one has to leave their home out of necessity, and to keep families united. I trust, dear women, that you will be there,” Sandu said.
