Maia Sandu and Zelensky Hold Productive Talks on EU Integration in Kiev

President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, described the discussion she had today in Kiev with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as productive.

“We talked about our countries’ commitment to freedom and how we together build our common future in the EU. We also discussed bilateral cooperation, including enhancing energy security and investing in Moldova’s roads and railways to ensure faster, safer, and more efficient connections between our countries and the EU,” stated Maia Sandu.

In turn, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky deemed it very symbolic that today, 10 years after Ukrainians finally decided on their own future, Moldovan President Maia Sandu visited Ukraine. Regarding their discussions in Kiev, Zelensky wrote on his social media page, “We discussed security issues, expanding our exports through Moldova, cross-border cooperation, the energy challenges our countries face, and, of course, European integration. Thank you for your support!”

The meeting between Maia Sandu, Vladimir Zelensky, and Charles Michel in Kiev focused on a range of crucial topics, including regional security, economic collaboration, and the shared commitment to European integration. The leaders expressed gratitude for the support extended and emphasized the importance of fostering stronger ties for the mutual benefit of their nations and the broader European community.
