A team of American professionals is currently in our country and has met with President Maia Sandu. They are experts, opinion leaders, and leaders of USA non-governmental organizations.
The presidential administration has stated that their efforts are concentrated on enhancing support for the region. The discussion centered on enhancing democratic processes in the Republic of Moldova, regional security concerns, and USA assistance to countries in the area in light of the conflict in Ukraine.
“The Presidency announced that Maia Sandu expressed gratitude for the generous support provided to the Republic of Moldova by the USA Government, either directly or through international organizations such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in managing the humanitarian crisis caused by the Russian invasion in the neighboring country.”
The head of state emphasized the significance of providing assistance to Ukraine to help the country defend itself against Russian aggression. According to him, this support is crucial for our nation and for the security of the whole European continent.
