Maia Sandu Honored with New Award in Slovenia for Courage and Leadership

President Maia Sandu participated yesterday, August 29th, in the Strategic Forum in Bled, Slovenia, during which she had several meetings with counterparts, ministers, and representatives of international organizations. During the event, the President of Slovenia and the host of the event, Nataša Pirc Musar, awarded Maia Sandu the “Bled Strategic Forum Distinguished Partner” Prize.

According to the organizers, the distinction is a recognition of the courage and leadership qualities demonstrated by Maia Sandu in the European path of the Republic of Moldova, as announced by officials from the Presidency.

On the sidelines of the forum, the head of state had a series of discussions and meetings, including with the President of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Helga Maria Schmid, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Mélanie Joly, and the Minister of France for Europe, Laurence Boone, as announced by the officials.

In the dialogue with foreign partners, President Maia Sandu stated that Moldova is making progress in implementing several ambitious reforms that will accelerate the country’s process of joining the European Union.
