Today, the head of state greeted screenwriter, director, and producer Jonathan Nolan in Chișinău, who is in our country at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture.
Discussions revolved around the development opportunities for the creative industries in the Republic of Moldova, methods of support and collaboration to encourage local production, as well as attracting international projects.
The President expressed her gratitude to Jonathan Nolan’s team, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the US Government for their support in increasing the visibility and attractiveness of the Republic of Moldova in large-scale cultural projects and for creating favorable conditions for young professionals in the creative fields to fully express themselves here at home and in significant international projects.
Nominated for Oscars and Emmy Awards, Nolan is known for remarkable cinematic and television works such as “Memento,” “The Prestige,” “The Dark Knight,” “Interstellar,” and “Westworld.” The latter received no less than 54 Emmy nominations and remained the highest-rated series in HBO’s first season history.
