Maia Sandu in talks with representatives of the medical system. “We are building a truly European healthcare system”

President Maia Sandu participated today, September 12, at the National Health Insurance Campaign (CNAM) Conference: “Compulsory health care insurance in the Republic of Moldova: two decades of implementation.”

“Every day, children, elderly, sick people in our country need help, and the state must be able to guarantee two things: that all these people turn to us for help with confidence, with confidence in doctors, with confidence in medical science, and that the medical system manages to help all of them or as many as possible. We strive to provide excellent working conditions for doctors and the highest quality patient treatment,” said Maia Sandu.

During the event, the Head of State discussed the transformation of the healthcare system with over 200 representatives of the medical system.

“Today, at an event organized by the National Health Insurance Company, I discussed with over 200 representatives of the medical system – directors of hospitals, heads of departments, heads of health centers, heads of agencies – about the health system transformation.

In the last three years, some 3 billion lei have been invested in hospitals nationwide, a record amount for Moldova. And this is just the beginning. Just as today’s renovated intensive care wards and newly created stroke centers – no different from those in European hospitals – look today, so will all our hospitals gradually look. Together, we are building a European healthcare system people trust,” said the Head of State.
