Authorities will simplify the inheritance procedure and make it more financially accessible. President Maia Sandu announced this on Thursday, March 6, following several complaints received from citizens during her visits to the districts.
“At many of the meetings I have in localities, people raise the issue of inheritance law. I discussed with my colleagues in Parliament, and the law will be amended so that, especially for the spouse or husband who inherits, this procedure will be cheaper and simpler,” the president stated.

She also emphasized that after the legal changes in 2018, resolving inheritance issues became much more expensive and complicated for citizens. Therefore, Parliament will make the necessary amendments as soon as possible.
