On the eve of the parliamentary elections, President Maia Sandu addressed all Moldovans. She urged citizens to go to the polls and to continue supporting the country’s democratic and European path, emphasizing that “Moldova deserves to be saved every time.”

“Today I want to speak to you not as president, but as a citizen. Ten years ago, I decided that I did not want to live in a country ruled by thieves. Together with many of you, we set out to remove the oligarchic regime,” Maia Sandu said.

In her message, the president recounted the major events of the past decade, including significant political changes, the crises that Moldova faced, the war at the border, and the launch of the process to join the European Union. She emphasized that, despite the difficulties, authorities have taken important steps to reform the state and strengthen democracy.

“Yes, I know that some of you will say that we have not done enough, that you feel disappointed, that you no longer have a reason to vote, that you feel scared or tired of saving the country. Know that the Kremlin counts on this, and the corrupt do as well. We achieve good things with difficulty, over decades. Bad things can happen overnight. Our actions and inactions always have consequences — let us be aware of them and take responsibility,” the president noted.

On Sunday, citizens will vote in the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova. Authorities have established 2,274 polling stations for the elections, including 301 stations abroad.
