The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, welcomed yesterday in Chisinau the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, who is on a working visit to our country. The two leaders discussed the Modo-Bulgarian relations and the centuries-old friendship that connects our countries – through history, culture, and people.
“For about 200 years, the Republic of Moldova has been the homeland of a community of Bulgarians, who have found a welcoming home here. Our goal is to build a safe and prosperous future for all. Regardless of ethnicity or the language we speak, we are all part of the Republic of Moldova”, said the head of state during the meeting.
President Maia Sandu also mentioned that in the spring of this year, Moldova took a decisive step towards European integration, by submitting the application for EU membership. “Today I met President Radev in the capital of a country that is a candidate for European integration. We count on Bulgaria’s support on our European road”, President Maia Sandu also declared.
