President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu will travel to Brussels on Monday, June 22, to attend the Moldova–European Union Summit alongside EU leaders.

The European Union will be represented by António Costa and Ursula von der Leyen.

The Moldova–EU Summit will bring both sides together in a high-level dialogue format that reflects the deepening partnership and Moldova’s ongoing EU accession process. The meeting comes one week after the opening of accession negotiations on Cluster 1 (“Fundamentals”), which marked the start of formal talks.

During the summit, leaders are expected to discuss the next steps in the accession process, Moldova’s reform agenda, and broader cooperation in areas such as security and defence, energy, and economic development. EU institutions are also expected to assess Moldova’s readiness to advance negotiations across additional clusters based on merit-based progress.

The summit will conclude with a joint declaration and a press conference by the participating leaders.
