Media Policy Forum 2024: Advancing the Development and Sustainability of Moldova’s Media Sector within the Framework of European Union Enlargement Policy

The Media Policy Forum 2024 aims to bolster the development and sustainability of Moldova’s media sector within the context of the European Union’s Enlargement Policy. This annual event convenes to address media-related issues, brainstorm potential solutions, and outline necessary actions for improving the legal framework governing media in the Republic of Moldova.

By bringing together diverse stakeholders and international experts, the forum facilitates collaboration to tackle pressing challenges concerning press freedom and freedom of expression and enhance Moldova’s media laws and regulations.

This year’s forum, “Supporting the Development and Sustainability of the Media Sector in Moldova in the Context of the European Union’s Enlargement Policy,” will take place on May 23, 2024, in Chisinau. Registration for the event is open online until May 20, 2024. Journalists, editors, media managers, editorial staff, representatives from media organizations and associations, advertising agencies, and academic professionals involved in journalism training are encouraged to register.

Approximately 100 participants will be selected from the registrations and notified via email about their opportunity to participate in the forum’s activities. The event is organized by Freedom House in partnership with Internews, with financial support from the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, USAID, the British Embassy in Chisinau, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, and the Soros Foundation Moldova.
