Mihai Popsoi met with Micheál Martin in Dublin. They discussed Moldova’s European agenda

On July 25, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi met with Micheál Martin, Ireland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense, in Dublin.

During the meeting, the officials discussed bilateral relations and ways to deepen them.

“After nearly 25 years of diplomatic relations between Moldova and Ireland, Moldovan-Irish cooperation is experiencing significant intensification. Last week, Moldova saw its first presidential visit to Ireland. Additionally, the Irish government announced plans to open an embassy in Chisinau, which will significantly enhance economic ties between our countries,” said Mihai Popsoi.

The Moldovan official also discussed Moldova’s European agenda and regional security.

“We are pleased that Ireland is an active supporter of Moldova’s European integration process. Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defense, Micheál Martin, assured us of Ireland’s continued support for our efforts to build a modern, stable, and prosperous country. Additionally, we discussed with Prime Minister Micheál Martin ways to enhance trade, economic, and cultural cooperation. We committed to creating new opportunities for the Moldovan community in Ireland,” added Deputy Prime Minister Popsoi.

We remind that Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi is on a working visit to Ireland from July 25-26, at the invitation of his Irish counterpart, Micheál Martin. The visit comes ahead of the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Moldova and Ireland.
