Moldovan officials expressed concern over media reports from the Transnistrian region that Tiraspol-based groups and the illegally stationed Operational Group of Russian Troops are organizing a reenactment of the Second World War Iasi–Chisinau operation, according to the IPN.
The Reintegration Policy Office explains that organizers are staging the event on the bank of the Dniester River in Tiraspol, involving about 16 military vehicles, 13 artillery pieces, blank ammunition, and pyrotechnic materials. In a press release, officials assert that these unilateral military actions within the Security Zone flagrantly challenge the special regime established for that area and undermine the peacekeeping mission on the Dniester.
The Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission, through its Unified Military Command component, requested that the authorities deploy military observers on-site to document the situation. Representatives from Tiraspol and the Russian Federation, however, have blocked this standard request.

The delegation strongly condemns these provocations, endangering stability and security in the region. They call for an immediate cessation of all military actions in the Security Zone and urge strict compliance with the commitments made under the July 21, 1992, Accord on the Principles for the Peaceful Settlement of the Armed Conflict in the Transnistrian Region of the Republic of Moldova.
