Millions for the Customs Service! How much money did it collect in 2022

The Customs Service announces that the revenues received from the state budget in 2022 amount to over 33.879 billion lei, an increase of 18.65% compared to 2021 and 50.4% compared to 2020.

At the same time, in December 2022, the revenues to the state budget administered by the customs body increased. Thus, in the last month of 2022, receipts of 3.405 billion lei were recorded, 11.2% more than in December 2021.

“Regarding the categories of goods subject to excise duties, the largest taxpayer remains the oil sector, with a share of around 43.5%, followed by tobacco products, which generate 32%, and vehicles, with a share of over 17.5% of the amount total excise duty. The increase in receipts administered by the Customs Service is mainly determined by the improvement of customs control, the authentic declaration of goods by bona fide economic agents, but also by the progress made in the field of anti-fraud”.

According to those in charge, another important factor influencing the increase in budget collections concerns measures to simplify customs procedures and facilitate international trade, such as the electronic declaration, AEO (Authorized Economic Agent), PVD (customs clearance at home), and Approved Exporter.
