Our country’s anthem rang out four times in Slovenia, the city of Koper, where Europe’s hardest championship was held from 14-22 April 2024. Our country’s team represented the country with eight athletes, two referees, and two coaches with the President of the Federation, Filat Vasile.
Our team placed 11th in the overall ranking out of 33 countries. It is a record result at such a high level.
Ilescu Ion took 1st place in the Tull Senior IV Dan event. He had 20 competitors in the category.
Marica Ilescu placed 1st in Tull Veterans V Dan. The second medal – the silver she won in wrestling.
Filimon Igor placed 1st in the Tull Seniors V Dan event, followed by Filip Petrachi, who took 2nd place in the same category.
Panainte Vasile placed 3rd in the category of individual strength vault.
The 1st place by country was in the team event, Moldova being the European champion here too.

“We would like to thank the coaches and the President of the Federation for their support and preparation of the athletes during the training camp. The management of the international federation appreciated the high level of referees and athletes from our country. Thanks to all who have been with our country’s team through prayers and support. At the Presidents’ Congress, a vote was taken for the next European Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, in April 2025, where our country’s team aims to field juniors. Also, in August 2025, the world championship will take place in Italy, the city of Jesolo, where we want to represent our country”, says Rotaru Teodor, coach and international referee.
