BDR Associates Moldova is marking the 35th anniversary of the Republic of Moldova’s independence with the launch of the “Moldova in Colors. #35deEmotii” campaign, an initiative bringing together art, education and inclusion to celebrate young talent.

Students from Special School No. 12 in Chisinau, an institution dedicated to educating children with hearing impairments and late-onset deafness, have chosen to express their vision of Moldova through color. The exhibition features 35 original artworks inspired by people, places, traditions and emotions associated with the country.

The campaign is being carried out in partnership with Carturesti, with the exhibition hosted in a space dedicated to culture, dialogue and the meeting of people and stories.

The exhibition will open on August 24 at the Carturesti bookstore located inside the National History Museum of Moldova and will remain open to visitors until August 31. Visitors will be able to view and purchase the exhibited works.

From paintings to postcards

The initiative also aims to give the artworks a life beyond the exhibition. The 35 paintings will be turned into an exclusive collection of postcards available across the Carturesti bookstore network, allowing the public to take the children’s stories and emotions with them.

All proceeds from the sale of the paintings and, subsequently, the postcard collection will be donated to Special School No. 12 in Chisinau. The funds will support inclusive education and help create an environment where every child can develop and showcase their talents.

Eugenia Nastase, General Director of BDR Associates Moldova, said the campaign was based on the idea that communication can take many forms.

“I believe in the power of communication to bring people together. Sometimes it happens through words. Other times, through color. ‘Moldova in Colors. #35deEmotii’ was born from the belief that the most authentic stories are those that bring people closer and make them part of the same emotion,” Nastase said.

She added that, as Moldova marks 35 years of independence, the campaign aims to celebrate the occasion through talent, creativity and inclusion, while inviting the public to discover the country through the eyes of children who have much to express through art.

Vlad Cretu, Director of Carturesti Moldova, said the bookstore was pleased to provide a space where the children’s stories could reach a wider audience.

“We like to believe that every story finds its reader. This time, the stories are not read, but viewed. ‘Moldova in Colors. #35deEmotii’ is an invitation to discover Moldova through the eyes of extraordinary children, and we are glad that Carturesti can be the place where this encounter becomes possible,” Cretu said.

“When art and culture meet talent, stories are created that stay with us long after we leave,” he added.

Natalia Vamasescu, Director of Special School No. 12, said the exhibition represents more than an artistic event for the students.

“Every child has something to say. Some do it through words, others through color, and the works in this exhibition prove that talent can speak a language we all understand,” Vamasescu said.

“For our children, this initiative means more than an exhibition. It means confidence, encouragement and the joy of seeing that what they create reaches people’s hearts. That their talent is seen. That their voice is heard,” she added.

A continuation of “Talent That Can Be Heard”

“Moldova in Colors. #35deEmotii” continues the “Talent That Can Be Heard” campaign launched by BDR Associates Moldova in 2025 to support inclusive education and highlight children’s talents.

The first initiative brought together students from Special School No. 12 in an exhibition inspired by the winter holidays. The proceeds were used to support the school’s educational activities.

The latest campaign continues the same mission: to ensure that talent is seen, encouraged and shared.

“Moldova in Colors. #35deEmotii” invites the public to look at the Republic of Moldova through the eyes of children who demonstrate that some of the most powerful messages do not need words. They can be heard through color.
