The Republic of Moldova will denounce two additional agreements within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). These documents regulate the division of inventory fleets of freight wagons and containers from the former USSR Ministry of Communications among member states, as well as the creation of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.

The Government has placed draft decisions to denounce both agreements on its agenda, and ministers are scheduled to examine them on April 22 during a Cabinet meeting.

After the Government approves the proposals, Parliament will vote on them, and authorities will publish them in the Official Gazette. The Executive Committee of the CIS will then receive formal notification of Moldova’s withdrawal.

Earlier, on April 8, the Official Gazette published decisions through which Moldova denounced the founding agreement of the CIS, its related protocol, and the organization’s statute, effectively initiating the country’s full withdrawal process. Authorities expect to complete this process in 2027.
