The World Health Organization will provide the Republic of Moldova with technical support and expertise to modernize its healthcare system under a Biennial Cooperation Agreement for 2026–2027, signed on April 14 in Copenhagen.

The agreement outlines key areas of cooperation for the next two years, including primary healthcare, prevention, digitalization of the health system, infrastructure modernization, and the implementation of reforms.

Emil Ceban and Hans Henri P. Kluge signed the document.

The agreement also includes measures to improve access to medicines, develop human resources, promote mental health, and strengthen emergency response capacity.

A major objective of the partnership is to align Moldova’s healthcare system with European Union standards. The World Health Organization officials reaffirmed their readiness to support authorities in Chisinau in implementing reforms aimed at building a modern and efficient healthcare system.
