Moldovan deputies meet with their Polish counterparts at the 8th joint session

The Parliament announced that the 8th Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Poland will take place in Chisinau on Monday, November 7.

The session will be inaugurated by the two co-chairs – Mihail PopÈ™oi, vice-president of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, and Ryszard Terlecki, vice-marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland.

Among the most important topics on the agenda of the session is the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova after obtaining the status of a candidate country for EU accession and assistance from the Republic of Poland, including in the framework of bilateral economic and development cooperation. Also, parliamentarians from the two states will discuss security issues, especially the energy security of the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Poland in the context of the Russian Federation’s military aggression against Ukraine.

At the end of the meeting, the Joint Declaration of the Parliamentary Assembly will be signed, and afterward, the co-presidents Mihail Popșoi and Ryszard Terlecki will hold a press conference.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Republic of Moldova – the Republic of Poland is an inter-parliamentary consultative body, set up in order to develop common points of view on projects that represent an object of bilateral interest. The assembly meets in plenary sessions, which are convened once a year, alternately in the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Moldova. The 7th session took place between 5-8 December 2021, in Warsaw. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Poland was established in July 2011.
