Moldovan electoral body accredits more international observers for elections’ monitoring

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) accredited more international observers to monitor the upcoming presidential elections and a constitutional referendum scheduled for October 20, 2024.

The CEC accredited 51 observers from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, 16 from the United Kingdom Embassy in Moldova, and one from the Embassy of Slovenia in Moldova. Additionally, five observers were accredited by the Japanese Embassy, one from the Croatian Embassy, one from Serbia’s Republican Electoral Commission, two from the Central Elections Commission of Kyrgyzstan, and 13 from the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI), Washington, Chisinau branch.

The CEC confirmed 23 interpreters for the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.

The deadline for observer accreditation for the October 20 elections is October 13, 2024.
