Moldovan judoka Mihail Latisev became the European U23 Champion in the under-23 age category, while Oxana Diacenko won the bronze medal – reports IPN, referring to the announcement from the National Olympic Committee on November 16. The competitions took place in Poland.

Latisev competed in the under-90 kg weight category and secured five victories. According to the National Olympic Committee, he defeated Italy’s Enrico Signorini, Serbia’s Vojin Mandic, Georgian athletes Akaki Dzhaparidze and Gheorghe Dzhabniashvili, and in the final, he triumphed over Dutch judoka Jan Van Herk.

Oxana Diacenko competed in the over-78 kg weight category. She defeated Georgia’s Nino Papidze, Italy’s Tiziana Marini, and Estonia’s Emma-Melis Aktas.
