The sparkling wines produced by Moldovan winemakers have secured positions in the top ten at the 21st edition of the international competition for the best sparkling wines in the world, Effervescents du Monde 2023, as reported by MOLDPRES.
Moldovan wines have earned five gold medals out of a total of 80 awarded. Additionally, spirits produced in our country have garnered seven silver medals out of a total of 76 awarded in this category. The competition featured 470 sparkling wines from 19 countries.
The competition, organized by the Forum of Oenology, took place from November 28 to December 1, 2023, at Château des Ravatys in France.
Moldova ranks among the top 20 wine-producing countries and is a significant exporter worldwide. The wine industry is one of the key sectors of our country’s economy, with Moldovan wines being imported by over 70 countries from various corners of the world.
